There is a food truck (Mariscos something???) in the Gala Foods parking lot at the intersection of Fern and Grape Streets.

I know, I see it sometimes when taking my grandson to school at Albert Einstein. If they're there tomorrow, I'll give them a try!

I think I've been to them all and the best is Bluewater near Old Town.

I've been to Whoa Nellie though I didn't try their fish tacos. I did try their burgers which I had read got rave reviews but I found them to only be average. The view at the truck stop was great and that seems to be the main attraction but the food I found to just be average though just average does make it better than most truck stop food.

Like I said, their location is great, their prices are reasonable, and I even like their fish tacos but they're highly Americanized thus my previous disclaimer. They do have a large menu and a fair number of beers on tap along with a long list of mixed drinks. If the OP is just visiting San Diego and wants the classic San Diego experience (instead of the best fish tacos like he asked for) then South Beach is probably the place for him.

That's one of the Mariscos German trucks though I believe it has a different owner than the original who also has a sit down restaurant in south bay.

What's the difference between an Americanized fish taco and a non-Americanized one? What should we be looking out for?
