Hi,

I am an Australian moving to USA in a month or so.

I need a new Mac Book Pro. I am thinking i'll probably get a better deal in the USA, so should hold off until I get there.

I want to buy

13.5 inch Mac Book Pro 2.9GHz

In Aust they retail for $1,499 with free shipping from Apple online. I could probably get several hundred dollars off that with teacher or military discount.

Where's the best place/cheapest place to buy Mac products in USA? (Reputable company only) I'll be living in San Diego, California. Happy to buy from store or online.

TIA

Amazon.com.

I just picked up a Macbook Air for less than $1200 on Amazon. The 13.3 inch Macbrook Pro is cheaper than that at $1129 right now. Look around, it doesn't get cheaper.

Second that. Just buy it directly from Apple in the US. Same price and you have bought it right from the source.

You can wait to get the Applecare extension. You don't need to purchase it right away. You can wait until right before the warranty runs out and add it on. Would probably recommend getting it though especially if you are transporting your MacBook frequently.
