The demographic sounds lovely thus far.

Definitely is up there as one of the more interesting threads this year lol

OP, not sure about the 40 something's singles scene.

Accepted. Even with all the "we're just trying to help" nonsense, I don't think what I look for is unreasonable.

Perhaps the description "upscale" would have been better semantics than "white collar." "Upscale" is subjective while "white collar" sounds classist.

You're in danger of hijacking your own thread! Hahaha.

I'd say you have plenty of options depending on your personality and expectations. There are a lot of young guys who wouldn't mind dating a 40 year old attractive woman. There are plenty of 30 and 40 something year old men who wouldn't mind dating a 40 year old woman. But it's Southern California. You might also find a lot of men, regardless of age, who have that peter pan never grow up complex, regardless of their wealth or success.

THere are certain places you wouldn't visit. Places like PB are kind of out of the question when you hit 25, much less 40, for men and women.

Did I refer to "upscale" meaning people? I meant upscale bars/restaurants. Upscale to me is a classy place, with more wines and cocktails than beer, pool table, and trivia nights. I don't think I would ever say "upscale people" and don't think I have ever said that aloud either. I would just say "white collar professionals".

I haven't noticed the games here are any different than anywhere else, but I have noticed there is an overall type of people here in my age range who seem to all be fairly similar. It's the under 35, I smoke marijuana, I work in sales, I surf almost everyday, I hang out with a large group of friends/party 2x a week, and I have 2-3 roommates. I seem to meet a lot of guys like this (not meaning merely on dates, but I meet a lot of guys like that in general in San Diego). Laidback sure, but I do not find a lot of them are serious about commitment and are emotionally immature. They just seem to want to date just to date, have some company, have sex, and then repeat all the other things they were doing before and after the date.

I've said it before to friends here (who are all married), that San Diego is an easy place to date but hard to find a relationship.
