We took a day trip to San Diego while we were visiting LA a few years ago. When went to an area that was right off the beach. It was a few streets that were up a hill filled with shops and stores within steps of the beach. I have no idea where we were but it was very nice and we want to go back to that same area in September. Where were we?

Wow, um, maybe La Jolla village above the Cove? This could be a dozen places but that's my guess.

Start at La Jolla and drive up the 1/101.

This sounds like the description for many beach communities along that stretch up to Oceanside

Yeah, it could be Del Mar, or Solana Beach, or Encinitas, or Carlsbad Village ... haha

LOL. Yep. So true. That's the great thing about this area. So many wonderful beachside communities.
