Ahhhh!
Driving up and down Mission Gorge on Friday nites, in my friends lowered Isuzu Truck Listening to Q106.
I met my First wife cruzing though the parking lot at the Santee Roller Rink. She lived in Del Mar but was visiting her Cousins in Santee.
Knowing what i know now, i would have told my friend to "hit the gas" and would have never look back

Anyone else enjoying the random rock playlist on 105.7 FM out of Baja California?

The station use to be The Walrus oldies station then Max FM 80s station. Now it just seems to be a nameless commercial free (except for the Mexican federal govt commercials) random rock playlist that plays all types of rock sub genres. They even play obscure-extended live versions of many songs. It's been broadcasting in this fashion since last year or longer.

105.7 Willy FM is listed as "classic alternative (stunting)".

^ Yup, that's it. Not sure of their programming, on Monday night they seemed to be playing mostly hard classic rock like Metallica, Ozzy, Iron Maiden and other stuff I didn't even recognize. Right now it seems like its mostly miscellaneous 80's type music leaning more towards soft/alt rock, alot of which I don't recognize but its nice to hear new (to me) music. No station id between songs, just dead air for a few seconds.

Edit: They made a liar of me, they played a Paul Simon song from the 70's followed by an Imagine Dragons song from 2017.

I've been on 91.5FM, for some REAL oldies...

and lack of commercials is just icing on the cake.

^ Must be only in North County, I get nothing but static on that channel here in Lakeside/El Cajon.

Another good local East County station is Mountain Country 107.9 out of Alpine. If you like old school classic country ( I can't stand the "country music" on KSON 103.7), you'll like this one. Too bad its super low powered and gets dominated throughout much of the County by a Christian radio station signal on the same station out of Orange County.

Sometimes I'll tune in and hear songs that I like that other stations don't touch instead of hearing "Take On Me" every day on them. The signal isn't that robust though, often K-EARTH comes in better while driving around but that station's seen much better days.

It's actually one of the strongest signals in the region, but I think the antenna points southward since reception can be spotty in San Diego but recall back when it was The Walrus, it being the only station that came in clearly when we camped at Laguna Hansen which is in Baja East of Ensenada.

Steve West's Sunday morn show's replacement has a bit of a complex. I Like jazz out of SDCC and classical out of USC. I never did Spotify to cancel it.

91X's A to XYZ playlist this week is pretty epic so far. To celebrate their 40th anniversary, they started playing their entire historical playlist on Sunday or Monday in alphabetical order and are only the E's today Wednesday.
