Those jackholes know exactly what they are doing. I've seen cars ride entire breakdown lane all the way to the La Jolla Village onramp.

I seem to get more angry at the wimps who let those cars in! Like you, I don't let anyone in and have had to use my horn a few times. If Justin Timberlake can bring sexy back, then I'm bring honking back
Not letting anyone is is also part of the problem. Just kick back, keep enough distance from the car in front of you that you can maintain a speed (even if it's 2 mph) without having to hit your brakes very often, and quit worrying about what other people are doing. I find that when I make a point of keeping back and letting other people in the person behind me starts doing the same thing probobaly 50% of the time, and then the person behind them does, and bam! I've made things better. It's also much less stressful. I call it my traffic Zen

Something about the anonymity of being in a car brings out the true character of some people: that they are buttholes.

You (or I at least) never see people jumping the line at the grocery store.

I am one of the few people I know who actually enjoys driving. I do it by following Jenkay's rule - just leave a couple of car lengths in front and behind - smooth sailing almost every day! I drive to LA, OC routinely and aside from rush-hour LA traffic - I love hauling ass through Southern California's amazingly engineered freeway system.

Wait, did Sassberto really just write "amazingly engineered freeway system"?

Took me a couple of years to get to where I can seriously chill in even the worst LA traffic, but it was really worth the effort to learn how.

I'm totally zen in traffic, but the Northridge-to-SD run is just a long drive, I'm practically passing out when I get home.

Haha, it is much better than it used to be.

I think if CalTrans could go back 50 years they might do things differently.

I'm still trying to figure out if those mass transit hubs on I-15 are worth the effort to build them. Nice idea. Hope people use it. Glad I don't have to.

You have to understand that Sass is from the New York area. Compared to what he dealt with there, this is a cakewalk.

Seriously, we do complain about the traffic but compared to what a lot of people deal with all the time, this is nothing.

When I visit my folks in DC, I realize very quickly that I should not complain about San Diego traffic any more than I should complain about San Diego weather.
