Being that the mall is so close to San Ysidro crossing, my best guess would be that they crossed as pedestrians into San Diego last night to go to "el chopping", as they call it , and they needed an inconspicuous way to get the merchandise back into Baja so that they wouldn't have to pay import tariffs. It just looks like they are coming back from work when crossing back on foot instead of carrying tons of shopping bags.

Kind of like when you see them at Target or Best Buy buying a huge TV and then they unbox it in the parking lot to drive it back down and claim at Mexican Customs that they are "moving" back into Mexico if they get stopped.

I crossed at Otay last night back in SD around 11PM and the line was surprisingly long (1 hour) for a Thursday and Holiday, usually Holidays are smooth sailing late at night but not when there is shopping to be done in the middle of the night I guess.

I prefer personal shopping in January over December.

I wished I'd read your post earlier 'cause I would have attempted a H Depot run... I was up all night working anyway, so at 6am, I could have gone. Instead, I thought it might be a good day for people to get started on long-weekend projects, so I begged off. And, I don't like to have to ask for anything... I'd rather take my time & look around on my own, especially when I have the small list I've got. All I need is 1 really big screw & to get some nails... don't wanna ask the HD lads for that... haha
Yea Home Depot was easy going(it was last year too).
installed a shelve in my sons room, now im going to sit around and drink beer.

Happy Thanksgiving and Black Friday to all. I have managed to knock out two full rounds of golf in the last two days and not once visited a mall.

Best deals I got at Las Americas was the week "before" Black Friday. With that said whatever I saw at Las Americas a few weeks ago was mainly low quality goods for the most part. I think NIKE only sells their overstock there because most of the styles were lame.

There was an article I read not long ago about Outlet malls selling items specifically made for Outlet malls....made cheaper and of lesser quality for a discounted price.

Wasn't too bad till about 9 o'clock then all hell broke loose.I've never seen so many High School/College Kids spending so much money.

Old navy was horrible i felt sorry for the people working in that store. We walk in and walked right back out.
Home Depot wasn't bad at all this morning.Walked in and grab my stuff walk out

Edit: They were out of the 99cent poinsettia
The suit cases are probably to get the stuff back over the border.
