It's been about 50/50 for me. The bigger apt. complexes seem to charge for it, in my experience.

I've lived in large and small apartment complexes, and have been charged for it. My current landlord pays for water, trash and sewer.

well, that is great for all of you. But I don't think its right to tell people they will never be paying water or trash in an apt.

I am and its very real, lol. I'd love to NOT be seeing that $40 or so go out of my account each month, believe me.

You're the first that I've heard of having to pay water, trash, and sewer in an apartment, and like I said, I'd never heard of someone paying for in an apartment complex. Even here in TJ, my landlord pays for water, trash and sewer - I just pay for my electricity and propane tank.

I wouldn't even consider looking at a place where I had to pay water, sewer or trash, I'd keep looking. If I was renting a house, that would be different, but normally it's included in apartments, so I guess yours must be an exception to the rule.

It is very common to pay for those on the east coast and I have a feeling it is coming our way out here.

I grew up on the east coast, lived in many apartment buildings, and never paid for it.
