No, but you should do some homework. I have heard its not as simple as just rolling in with a check, wining the bid and getting the keys. Depending on the actual status of the property and why it is in foreclosure is something you should know beforehand. Tax liens (which you might have to pay for), condition and banks not agreeing to price set by the auctioneer after winning the bid etc. The terms set forth by auction.com pretty much tell you what role they place once you win.

I did research it a bit at one point, but just gave up because there are just far too many investors that play and know the game vs a person that just wants to find a good deal.

Not trying to scare you off, but definitely do some homework beforehand about some properties that will be at these conventions.

Read some of the comments here. There are some good ones about 1/4 the way down that I had checked out some time ago.

Thanks for the info Smoov.
I have a good friend, and now his east coast investor buddies, trying to break into the market here.
He bought a rentals in La Mesa and East San Diego so far. One of the Guys is a seasoned vet when it comes to auctions. We all went to diner Saturday night and he seems, knowledgeable in the southern California market.
