exactly what happened to me last night while I was driving down the 805 in my convertible with the top down...nothing at all on the radar but it sure did start raining!

I was out of town last week but was keeping track of the heat, humidity and rain that was happening here. While you were all sweating in bed, I was staying dry in Dallas and Houston 71 degree dew point at midnight? Ouch

So true. Here's a link to an old weather thread I started when I first joined this forum in 2008. Same heatwaves, different year.

Surprise is more with the unusal, sustained high humidity, as extreme dryness (santa ana) typically centers on October.
Yup, now we are entering the hottest time of the year.....which also means the beginning of fire season.

LOL Seriously. It's CLOUDS. Are you kidding me? Try living in a area that gets blizzards/sub zero weather for months on end/tornadoes/hurricanes making landfall/thunderstorms ect. ect. like the rest of the country.

It also means many don't have air conditioners when we get rare Florida type weather.

Correct. But with a good fan and cross ventilation, it's bearable.

Ready for another heatwave with 100 degree temps inland? Because the dewpoints will be much lower than the previous stretch of hot weather, it shouldn't be too miserable for most of us.

"But it's a dry heat", will definitely be the mantra for this weekend. Stay Cool.

^^^^ hahahah, well its true :-)

Its funny, last Saturday night we set up the TV outside on the deck and watched a movie with the kiddos. We all had to wear sweaters as well as cover up with blankets, its actually the first night that was sweater worthy in a VERY long time. What a difference a couple of days makes. I'll probably be shirtless if we do it again this saturday.
