If they lose any more players they will have to start the practice squad.

It's being reported that Rivers will need back surgery very soon (herniated disc), may not be able or allowed to play next week in KC. He'll be lost for the playoffs, if we make it. Too bad, he been very healthy the whole time he's been playing here and he's played in a lot of pain the last few weeks. I thought something was wrong, because he wasn't throwing as accurately as he normally does.

I see that he's been playing through a bulging disc but don't see where it says he'll miss next weeks game or possibly the playoffs

Remember, Rivers played the AFC championship against New England a couple years ago with a torn ACL in his knee. If they make the playoffs, he'll be in there.

They can dope him up to get through the year.....unless it gets worse. There ain't enough drug of any kind to fix that pain. If it touches the nerve he'll go down like shot with a high power.

The upside is it's a rather painless op. Not fun with someone monkeying around with a razor blade there though.

9-7 wasn't going to do it this year. Disappointing season but getting used to the outcome.

During the past eight years coaches and players have come and gone, trying to build a team around Philip Rivers. It’s seriously time to find a new quarterback. Elite Super Bowl quarterbacks have both a high IQ and high EQ (emotional quotient). River’s flashes of brilliance come with his high IQ; however his lower EQ prevents him from reaching the next level. The players that surround a quarterback need to play at a higher emotional level, however the quarterback needs to keep his emotions intact to see clarity among chaos. Philip River’s tantrums and outbursts are reflective of an unsettled mind. Do you recall making your best decisions when you were highly emotionaland and agitated or when you were calm and focused?
