Using Terro to get rid of ants has been one of the most useful tricks I've learned from this forum.

^^ I would agree, but the ants are so sporadic it is hard to tell whether it was the terro or whether it was just time for them to make an exit.

I use Raid Ants & Roach spray, the one with red/yellow cover. Last year I used boric acid, terro liquid, scrubbed the floors every weekend, meticulously cleaned the kitchen counters...and those little black ants still found a way to get in.

The trick is to find where they come from. Then spray the area lightly, let ém suckers feed on that liquid...if it's inside let it sit for a few minutes then wipe it clean.

They seem to be nocturnal. Or maybe it's that there's no disturbance to their activities at night.....

I have become Shiva! Destroyer of Worlds!

I purchased the Terro, and I'll put it out tomorrow... and then the Formites will dance the Danse Macabre.

I've found that putting multiple doses of 2-4 drops each on tiny pieces of aluminum foil works very well - more than 2-4 drops, and the ants don't seem to have enough time to get to it all before evaporation dries the stuff out too much. Here's an example - that piece of foil is about 1.25" square...two days later - no more ants, anywhere - I guess they brought it back to the Queen and the rest of the colony

The bottles come with little pieces of cardboard inside of them, and that's what I've used.

Like the flu in humans, a new formulation shot is needed every year. Those ants will be back next year. Totally immune to the stuff you fed them this year.
