Nope. Bus is your only real option. The closest trolley station is Old Town.

No trolley or coaster in Clairemont. Also, the bus is late most of the time and doesn't run as often on the weekends. Plus the fares are too high. The public transit here is really not for daily use. It's really more for weekend trips and tourists. Buy a car.

If the schedules are the same 6-7 years ago, then buses are usually late at most 10 minutes. And if I remember, the buses ran every hour on weekends.

Bus passes are worth the money if you take the bus alot.

You can find all the Clairemont bus information you need here:

Transit.511sd.com :: Maps & Timetables

Check the maps for North Lower Central and Central San Diego to determine which bus route in Clairemont you want to take:

http://www.sdcommute.com/RegionalMaps/north_lower.pdf

http://www.sdcommute.com/RegionalMaps/central.pdf

Then go into Rider Information, and select Maps and Timetables to select the info for that route.

Here is a sample map and timetable for route (#44):

http://www.sdcommute.com/Services/SDMTSRoutePDFs/44.pdf

I've only taken the bus a few times in Clairemont, but my experience has been that the buses ran on schedule.
