At what point do the sea breezes come to a standstill in San Diego county? IOW, which areas are a bit on the sultry side in the summer?

In north county, pretty much anything east of I-15 has no ocean breeze.

There was a thread on here back in the day. The line is about 5 - 10 inland depending on terrain.

I went to Calexico last July. It was very hot. But it was a dry heat. Something I not too use to in the northeast. By the time sun went down though, it was real nice outside. And it was strange to see so many farms out there in the middle of a desert.

El Cajon, Santee and Lakeside get hot in the summer --not "Phoenix" hot, though. If you travel from Santee to I-8 on Mission Gorge Road, you can feel the temperature drop when you drive from the pass down into the area where Mission Trails Park has its headquarters. Ocean breezes on the west side of the pass, none on the east side. A very dramatic difference.

18's similar to more inland portions of our 15 up here in NorCal / 9's also similar for summer heat.

23 and 24 are nice. Like our 16 and 17 but slightly warmer at night and the wind's not as cool/cold.
