Growing up, going to punk shows in the sketchier parts of the city in the early 80s, was probably the height of my experience of seeing the worst areas and those were tame by comparison to other big metros. And that stuff is way more cleaned up today than it once was.
Your punk adventures were very tame This is SD

The way people are responding to Covid is scary. Just my opinion that many others share.

The shows were never tame. SD had a cool scene and Battalion of Saints would like a word with you.

But my point was, Wabash, Fairmont Hall, Jackie Robinson Y... it was the venues that at the time were sort of sketchy.
Still, I've never felt unsafe throughout the county for all my life. I get what you're saying about people getting uptight over the COVID rules, but I'd bet most are harmless. Lot's of pent-up folks out there who are tired of feeling like prisoners in their own homes.

Let's hope so.

No disrespect intended. I do love OC Punk. I am a huge Adolescents fan.

Hardcore shows in NYC were very violent . If you didn't come in a pack it was best advised to stay out of the mosh pit.

I went to a bunch of punk rock shows in the mid 90's. They were tamer than the ones in LA.

Ah yes. Saw D.I. a few times, so basically the same thing. They were always fun.

Its interesting sometimes there is a big discrepancy at border towns, i.e Windsor vs Detriot
Looking at this Quora discussion https://www.quora.com/What-is-Windso...y-is-it-better

It appears a similar situation occurs with San Diego/Tijuana, and El Paso and Ciudad Juárez.
Though it appears there were a number cases I heard where people disappear over the border but since they appear to have voluntarily left with their assailant often after drinking, no crime had been committed until they were well across the border. Though for some reason the caravan decides that Tijuana is safer than Ciudad Jurez. I be curious why.

^^ Safer, plus Central Americans who have family in the US likely have them in Los Angeles and not Texas.
