Looking for a cool spot to camp or to rent a cabin in the San Diego area. Trying to find a fun, reasonably priced place for a small group of 25-30 year-olds to get a little rowdy on a weekend trip. Thanks!

Campland by the bay is about it right in the City. There are cabin rentals at a few City owned lakes but "rowdy" would get shut down pretty fast and they monitor it every hour. Plus, those lakes are a ways out. Santee lakes has some rooms on the water but they really crack down on noise too.

^^^ So true, the whole rowdy part really narrows it down. I remember camping at William Heiss Park and the ranger getting after us for playing muisic on our phone after 10:30 on a Friday night. We got a kick out of that, it was a cel phone using the internal phone speakers, not 15 inch woofers.

We got the same thing there and I had a small pc speaker plugged into my phone. And it was still light out.

No one wants to camp with rowdy neighbors. So look farther out to the BLM or National Forest land that has dispersed camping. There you can find a spot for your rowdy group that's away from anyone else, and your rowdiness will not be a nuisance.

...or a private cabin not on a camp site. Otherwise, go camp in Baja, no one ever bothered us down there back in my rowdier days.

yes, of all the campsites I have ever stayed at, County campgrounds seem to be the strictest.

La Jolla Indian reservation is a good place for the rowdy types. Tubing (if there's any water- you can call them and ask) all day and partying all night.

Most other places rowdiness won't be appreciated, although there are a few with group campgrounds that are set apart from the regular ones. Don't be a jerk and camp in the regular campgrounds by taking up more than a couple of sites and keeping everyone else up.
