Hello all,

I am planning a move to San Diego area within the next year. I am moving from the Midwest and was wondering about a good suburb to settle into. I don't want to live in San Diego, so I was hoping to get some input from the forum for the best suburb to relocate to. I have already started peeking around on google, but there seem like so many options. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

What's your budget? How big a home do you want? Do you want a big or small yard, or no yard at all? Where will you be working in San Diego? Do you have kids, and thus need to worry about schools, or are you single, and thus need to worry about the dating scene? Do you want easy access to shopping, outdoor activities, the beach, nightlife, or is something else more important to you in your home search.

San Diego County is a BIG place. Without more information, no one can give you advice, and some will call you a troll.

Wow, tough crowd!!! Just getting started looking. Not trying to troll. I was asking about nice quiet suburbs, low crime. A nice place to call home. I was just looking for a starting point, because I am not looking to move until next summer. All the stuff you are asking I can figure on my own. I am not asking anyone to find me a house, or school, or dating scene. I am not moving tomorrow. It was just a general question. Sorry to bust up the forum with such generic questions.

Let me guess....you won't have work lined up, roughly 8k in savings, 3 kids, and a housing budget of 1.5k per month or 375k to buy?

Good guess, but I will have a job, About 10K, no kids, 1.5k sounds okay, had budget set for 2K but if it is cheaper than that great. Not buying yet.

These are some of the details we needed from the get go which is why you got busted on. Where will your job be is the next question that needs answered. Then you might be able to start getting some helpful responses..
