Yes, real estate is ridiculous here. Everything else is relatively average I would say.

Marin County is considered part of the San Francisco metro area, which is #15 on the list. The same can be said for San Mateo County to the south of SF. So it actually is on the list, but not mentioned by name.

Little strange then because Nassau Suffolk is part of NY metro yet they broke these out separate from NYC on this article's list...oh well.

Wow, grew up, till age 14, in Nassau County New York. Sure didn't seem like a way expensive place to live back in the 60's. We lived in a Levitt house

I agree. They were not very consistent in their demographics. It was different for various cities. Some were specific and others were done as a metro.

Shouldn't be that surprising, between the North Shore Gold Coast (featured in recent films such as "The Great Gatsby" and "Wolf of Wall Street"), Hamptons, and The Five Towns amongst other desirable bedroom neighborhoods on Long Island.
