I'm just moving around the corner with a new street address.
My driver's license expires in 2017.
Do I need to change it now or just wait for renewal?
If you see an official link that details this, please post link.

How will you get the renewal paperwork if you don't change it? And if you're ever in an accident, or get a traffic ticket, it's best to have the correct address on your license (and your car registration).

You can do the change of address easily online: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/de...orms/dmv/dmv14

When I moved to where I live now, I changed my address with DMV, but didn't want to spend $27 on a new license. So when my license gets ready to expire in 2017, it will reflect my current address at that time. So as long you change your address with DMV, your renewal will get to you, and you can go in and get a registration printout for $5.00.

Change it online. We got a $200+ toll violation with overdue tabbed on because they had the wrong addresses.
