It was pretty gnarly this am on the 8 W and 805 N due to that accident by the Mesa exit.

I think a few things have happened.

-More people on Waze and other nav apps mean your previous shortcuts and tricks are used by everyone else now; there are very few secrets nowadays to getting around bad traffic

-It's Thursday. Thursdays are the worst days for traffic lately, especially evenings

-Better economy, cheaper gas

I hope it's not permanent. I can get to work in 10 min but if I forget something it takes me an hour to get home.

Default I noticed this every fall after clocks set back

RE: afternoon rush hour - I no longer live in SD, but when I did, driving home in the dark seemed to throw people and really slow down traffic.

Traffic is bad but not nearly that bad. An hour and a half from Eastlake to Linda Vista leaving at 5:30? BS

Getting on the west 8 at Baltimore in the morning has been a mess this week. I'm not sure why the sudden change because it wasn't too bad before at the time I usually get there (6:45 or so).

I suspect the timing of the on ramp signal is screwed up for some reason. Maybe the timing is set for the 7:45 volume of freeway traffic and they forgot to fall back with the rest of us.
