My least favorite of the San Diego beers. I prefer Green Flash, Coronado, Karl Straus, Stone, Mission, and Alesmith all over Ballast Point.

I thought they recently went public issuing an IPA, errr I mean IPO. They sold out quick.

You probably can find secondary market stock for stone although not sure who would want to sell it right now... Ballast Point will get big, big distribution and I think it's new owners will try to make it the biggest craft brand in the world in 3-5 years

^^ As far as Ballast Point's Sculpin IPA, they will compete on a national level with Sam Adam's Rebel IPA and Lagunitas IPA (a NORCAL beer), these seem to be the IPAs that I find regularly in various parts of the USA and in chain establishments here in SD.

Just the opposite for me - - I'll take Ballast Point over every other local, with Karl Strauss a close second. Personally, I think Stone is the overrated one, although I enjoy the brewpubs themselves quite a lot.

If the recipe don;t change than, I welcome this. Pretty select few stores carry it here in AZ without, going out of my way. The liquor store that I requested it to, Sprouts and 1 store in Gilbert.
