Ashley is one of the old school US brands... it's a high quality product, Bassett, Lane, etc. are some of the other old brands based in North Carolina. Mor and Jeromes are retailers, Jeromes is a local distributor of exclusive lines whereas Mor is a traditional retailer and carries various manus. Personally I have found that the furniture at most of these places skews towards very large homes and a lot of the nicer pieces can't fit in the typical small San Diego homes.

Thinking of purchasing at Macy's.. I've read some horror reports regarding Jerome's, Ashley, Mor (discount furniture places), especially regarding "leather" that cracks and peels off after a short time.

Bump on this thread...my $500 couch from JC Penny has lasted longer than I thought. Thinking of buying a new couch with this years tax return....
Living Spaces, Mor, Ashley, Jeromes, Costco?

Thoughts?

Lots of choices there, decent enough quality, and good prices.
Bought at Ashleys and will not do so again. Junk.

Yes, had two supposedly leather units. The leather is about 10 thousandths of an inch thick. Fake and wore out quickly.

Just like I said before, quality at Mor & Jerome’s was not good. Never found a style I liked at Ashley’s, don’t know the others. Still have my La-Z Boy stuff, still looks good, worth the $$. Recently bought a sofa at the nearest Costco, looks good, seems sturdy, but it’s for a spare room & won’t get a lot of use.

We bought our latest couch and loveseat from Living Spaces 2 years ago and they are holding up well. The ones we chose were a bit more expensive, but we are happy with what we got. They are also holding up well with the cats!

I gotten furniture from all three and they’re all pretty comparible. It comes down to what you get. A $600 sofa from any of them won’t last, while a $2,000 will. With that said, Jerrys “bloopers” at Jerome’s has the best deals if you can find something, but I prefer Mor the best.

THIS!

Macy's has the best furniture I have found.

Mor sometimes looks ok, but is very questionable. Jerome's is the worst.
