In the past 5 years or so, there have been almost annual rumors about the Con moving from San Diego due to our relatively small convention center. This all ties into the Chargers discussions about building a combined stadium and convention center expansion downtown, but that's a mess I shall not wade into in this thread.
San Diego has Comic Con locked down, but only until 2018. Before 2018, however, except fierce competition. Just yesterday it was announced that Anaheim will see the building a new luxury hotel to take advantage of Anaheim's tax incentives. There are many other hotels planned or under construction not to mention Starwarsland at Disney.

Good gracious! My only concern about Comic Con is remembering to avoid the trolley service during that time. Otherwise, at my height, I end up shoved underneath someone's armpit.

On a side note, the Comicon organizers constantly bemoan the inadequacy of the space in the convention center, but I've often wondered if they might be better off marketing the San Diego Comicon for its exclusivity.

"Not everyone can get in. That's a feature, not a bug!"
I asked because some of the loacals last year mentioned that comic-con will be relocating to Las Vegas in a couple of years since SD is not equipped to handle the crowd and traffic. May be it was a rumor?

Anaheim? I vaguely remember hearing that name in the past. Isn't that like a small city with nothing much going on? seems odd.

Whatever you hear is just a rumor until a contract is signed and announcement made.
