Its everything but dumb, it brings people closer to each other.
Exactly, if it gets people outside, exercising, and socializing them I'm all for it.

I admit I downloaded the app to see what it was like and it is addicting! And I agree it can be very distracting and potentially will be a problem. OTOH, I agree it does get people outside, walking around, and talking to each other. And the Poke Stops can be educational - I heard that the National Park Rangers in Washington DC are taking the opportunity to engage hunters and talk to them about the monuments and history. Also saw a link advising librarians how to welcome hunters in libraries (where the kids may never have stepped foot before).

I was on the beach in MB yesterday and almost no one was playing the game - they were enjoying the sand and water.

If anyone needs video games to lure them outside, then that's pretty sad. The end of humanity is that much closer.

Did you ever think about people with social anxiety/communication disorder?

There's something to be learned from this game that could be applied to a wide array of uses... Imagine an interactive city of sorts... Sort of like what Google Glass was all about.

Three girls found human skeletal remains in Marian Bear Memorial Park yesterday while playing. Police think it was a homeless man who died of natural causes.

A goofy game will not help what you are describing.
