I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was the only case of a "squatter" renting out rooms in SD County. Anyone renting a room off of Craigslist, should ask a lot of questions to make sure it is a legit situation. For example, ask if your name can be added to the lease; if the answer is no, I'd be extra cautious.

Yes what I remember from an earlier story, left out in this one, is that the owners of the house found the squatter off of Craigslist. In other words, they went as cheap as possible for the father's in-home care.

This is true, but there are caregivers on Craigslist that are licensed and bonded, and are just looking for more clients. But apparently, this one wasn't.
