Interesting factoid: San Diego County had the highest percentage of registered voter turnout of any county in California, according to the CA. Sec. of State. 87.3% of San Diego County registered voters voted yesterday.

2016 General Election Results | California Secretary of State

No other county even came close to that percentage. Sierra County and Alpine County both had the second largest, with 82%. Mendocino County had the lowest turnout at 23.6%.

Regardless of our individual feelings about the election outcomes, I think that is something that all San Diego County residents can be proud of.

Yep!
The lines at the county registrars office were crazy all last week. I have not seen anything like it in the 40 years I have lived here.
I have notice the San Diego Section of CD has been a Ghost Town as of late

I was one of the 12.7%. I haven't voted for about 20 years now.

Wow, that is really weird how it's such an anomaly. None of the other large, urban counties comes remotely close. Definitely something to be proud of.

My personal convictions and beliefs. I don't fault anyone else for voting, I just chose not to do so. I stay registered in case I change my mind.

Possibly driven by the fact that we had so many state and local propositions. So, more interested voters.

Thanks for replying, Girl Friday. I respect your choice. I was just curious as to why.

I wondered about that too. I think the Chargers Stadium vote probably brought out a lot of voters in the city, and all the school bond measures may have also driven it to some degree. Or perhaps we San Diegans are just a tad more civic minded than in other counties? It really surprised me to see how much higher our county was in voter turn out. But, that's a good thing, I think.
