Yes it's important to distinguish between the city of Seattle and the suburbs which are two very different worlds. The suburbs in San Diego are much more a part of the city than they are in Seattle. Seattle suburbs are where people who hate the city move and then grumble as they leech from it.

From what I read (as I've never been to Seattle) it seems that many there just are plain bitter...

I have to agree. We live in the suburbs (20 miles east of downtown Seattle), and the people in the suburbs are much more rude than the city.

We live in Issaquah. And it's very nice here, the people just suck. LOL

Six months is one month longer than the five months I stayed! I moved from Boise to Seattle and couldn't believe how rude people are in Seattle. Also the stagnant economy everywhere but the Eastside. Lots of delapitated buildings and white trash unless you live in a high price area and I rather pay a high price to live in California! People always give California a bad reputation but I've travelled quite a bit and Seattle is definitely the most rude West Coast city.

Now I'm here in Orange County and moving soon to San Diego.

Wow, people in the Seattle forum always brag about how beautiful it is. I haven't been to be honest, but the pics they post are gorgeous. I do hear the people suck go. Vote 1 for CA.

I may be the minority here but I get tired of the scenery in Seattle. Yes, it's green but the mountains are covered with the same 1,000,000 firs. There is nothing but firs and you can't really see the contours of the moutains like you can here. I like the variety of trees here, the mountains that you can actually see, the colorful flowers all year round, the sandstone cliffs overlooking the ocean. Yes, Seattle is pristine and there is a lot of natural beauty but it gets old. Just my 2 cents.

Stop! I'm getting jealous. I drive around SA and it's so flat...and there's no ocean. Hopefully by the end of 08.

Many days you can't even see past 100 yards or so because of the rain.
