A 30,000 seat San Diego State/MLS stadium would make sense. I think San Diego would be really successful with a professional soccer team.

With such a high Hispanic population and more people in general watching it, .... yes.

I thought I was going to be reading a thread about how the National Realtors Association was either highlighting or attacking home sales in the City of San Diego.

This is completely believable

So how much is that going to cost? Not as much as the former local football owners would have you believe.

Looks like they are offering to buy the 166 acres in MV that includes Qualcomm stadium for "fair market value" (this is probably the main sticking point of the deal). Then spend their own money to demolish Qualcomm, build a $200 million stadium, pay the $150 million MLS franchise fee, build a riverfront park, set aside land for a future NFL stadium (maybe), housing, dorms/office space for SDSU, and retail. No public funding at all.

It took them 10 days to come up with a better proposal than Spanos did in 15 years.

Obstacle probably is that they want city council to decide without putting it on the ballot. And also that the city doesn't really get to decide what to do with the land once they sell it.

^^ The team should be linked to Xolos, perhaps a "Xolos USA" team for San Diego. I know Chivas USA didn't work out in Los Angeles, but I am sure the concept would work here in this region.
