Sorry. Have to say it. Love this city, but I've noticed more and more roaches on the sidewalks of Downtown and also Little Italy area of San Diego since the beginning of this year.

Anyone else agree? It's all this stupid construction explosion everywhere. Too much constructions and this is leading to more and more roaches being disturbed and coming to the surface.

Makes you question whether eating at any Downtown SD restaurant is a gigantic health risk....

It was a wet winter, this always happens the following summer. Roaches need water.

mosquitos are the biggest nuisance, we have been getting eaten alive this year. Never had this problem in the past.

I always see more roaches in the summer. Our defense must be better this year because I'm seeing fewer of them this year than last, but more than in the spring, fall, or winter. In PB, there seems to be fewer flies this year - - there was a year four or five years ago when they were awful.

Literally just saw a PILE of dead roaches on the sidewalk when I was in East Village today. I was thinking someone was trying to show off their bug killing skills.

I've yet to get a mosquito bite in 12-13 years I've lived here.

I haven't seen a snake yet either and I hiked for a couple years at least once a week

Conversely, I am amazed more people aren't alarmed by the spiders. I see tons of them. You can be in trouble getting bitten by some of these critters here.

What 1ATP said "It was a wet winter, this always happens the following summer". And it's not just the bugs. I'm over run with destructive rodents, ground squirrels, gophers, rats, mice, rabbits, snakes good and bad. I've dispatched 3 rattlers near the house this season and thankfully the dogs haven't been bitten, that gets expensive been there twice. The natural available water has dried so now I'm the primary source of water for everything around. The wet winter we had promoted a huge growth of everything and now we're seeing the effects of summer.

The same for me. In one week of visiting my parents in Pennsylvania this summer, I had more mosquito sightings than in all of my time in living in San Diego (also 12 years).

we had vector control out 2x in 92115 and again in 92119. All the neighbors are complaining. I think it's an east county thing.
