1) They couldn't sell out a 27,000 person stadium.

2) The fans that were there were about half Dolphins fans.

3) Those fans had to pay $100 for PARKING.

4) The Chargers lost a one score game . . . again . . . by a missed field goal.

5) When the field goal was missed, a cannon went off, as if the field goal was made (or, as if the Dolphins were the home team).

It's one thing to accurately predict something being an abject failure . . . it's another to see it as it unfolds.

Meanwhile - - SDSU 3-0 with two Pac 12 victories!

The highlight was Gates breaking the tight end receiving record, an awesome achievement, and I'm very happy for him. The low points were time-management (again) and it seems this new kicker just isn't ready for the pressure in the NFL. This team just can't win a game in the fourth quarter to save their lives. Fresh start? Sorry LT, but sadly it's the same old outcome.

Disgraceful with No NFL/ AFL Football team in San Diego. The Greed of Certain Owners, low class players who think they're activists, overpaid athletes, & fans who can sit home equal a bleak future for pro football. Watch College Football instead.....

NO NFL team should ever play in a 27k seat stadium. That is super embarrassing and they could not even sell it out. Even Vanderbilt stadium seats 40k and it is a small private school.

I just watched the Chargers recently since it was so close to home. It was crazy seeing both the Rams and Chargers practicing in OC!

There is an LA thread on this. Basically people are very indifferent to the Chargers in the LA area, so they will have to win to attract attention. They need to earn the love.

Many things are going on:

The Rams being more readily accepted;
The Colin K effect and the boycotts that followed are turning many people off to football in general;
The Chargers seem like they are they not needed (but there are the lakers/clippers).

Its a SoCal thing- the NFL has trouble supporting 1 team here- now there are two??? American Football is not a Southern California thing.

SD Residents have absolutely no room to talk.

Does anyone remember businesses that bailed out the fans who didn't attend to avoid blackouts?
Does anyone remember SD being practically the only city to complain about the NFL blackout policy?
Recall empty seats at the Q?
Recall half the stadium being opposing teams fans sometimes more (Raiders, Green Bay) for a game at the Q?
