Unfortunately less Government interference in safety leads to worse conditions and a less safe society.

Stupid or self centered people generally do not learn unless the instruction hits them hard enough.

Agree to disagree because we have two totally differing world views. "Instruction" can come in other forms, not necessarily from government. And yes, I know gov't is not going away, but it doesn't mean it is the best form of policing society.

This sentiment may be only valid for California. Lol

I have noticed the difference. I leave the house around 4.45AM and the roads are already full.

Not a lot of carpoolers even on weekends. Most folks don't mind traveling in peak times, some don't have a choice while others don't plan it out.

Until we use our tax revenues to upgrade public transit folks have no incentive and it's not convenient to where most folks live anyway

I commute from Baypark to just off the 94/805 Monday through Friday. My commute to work is around 10 to 14 minutes if I catch a break with the lights. This is leaving at 530 am. If, for whatever reason, I have to turn around and go back it will be min of one hour.

My home trip at 3 pm used to be zero backups but now by around 230 pm I will catch some due to the 805/15 South backing up onto the 94. That and the 163 is an absolute NOPE going North at that merge.

If I have to head back home I'll often just stop off at Balboa Park and relax for a bit and shoot my compound bow at the range there. That allows time for the mess to clear up.

The crazy thing is many times the 805 and 5 North are sheer parking lots by 530 am.

The 8 East going into El Cajon this past Friday was brutal. Backed up all the way to Johnson Ave! I’ve never ever seen it that bad before. Main st is jammed getting off of it if you’re heading West on the 8.

Again, I don’t remember seeing so much traffic as I do now. The 8 has been neglected by the state for years, many sections are crumbling and the lack of improvements or lane expansion is starting to show up years later since traffic has worsened.

It’s especially bad when it turns into a 2 lane highway after passing Greenfield Dr.

I forgot how many people call in sick, or take the day off after the Super Bowl. The commute was a breeze this morning.

I think Monday is generally a little leaner. For some reason, Friday seems to have heavier traffic throughout the day.

True, but today is the most called in sick day of the year
