Death toll now up to 91. Wouldn't be surprised if SD county is the hardest hit area in the country. One 37 year old man even died from flesh eating bacteria after coming down with the flu. Any and all seniors in particular need to be extra careful.

That is a good idea...but....Why in the world would you respond to a jury summons in the first place? I would never respond to a jury summons - anything like that goes right in the shredder around here. I don't work for the government, and I'm not a slave, so the government can't just order me around like an employee or a slave. I'm a free person, so my time and energy is my own, and doesn't belong to anyone else.

Public spaces like that are likely to have the highest loads of pathogens - I avoid them whenever possible.

They also are constantly infiltrated by Asian travelers - its madness that formerly secure island/isolated nations give up their natural protections against subversion and infection so easily. I'm amazed actually that their public health hasn't suffered a major catastrophe yet.

Officials say it’s unclear whether the recent upswing in cases means the season is peaking early or this year’s season is just particularly bad.

Good reason to wear masks like they do in Asian countries.

I’ve started wearing one...get a few weird looks but I don’t care. Guess they can’t tell if I’m really sick or just trying to avoid being sick. I’ve tried to stay out of stores and malls and just go get groceries as I need to.

San Diego State started up last week; MiraCosta starts up this week; Palomar and USD start up next week (not sure about some of the other local schools). This could get worse before it gets better.

Probably the best insurance against illness is being in good physical condition and eating a healthy diet, though in rare cases such individuals can succumb too.
For the past 10 years, or so, the VA hospitals i have been to, provide masks & hand sanitizer at stations along the walls.
