Planning to meet family from Boise Idaho to pick up Grandkids spend the night and immediately return to San Diego. Good midway place to meet and best route for toddlers with places to stop and stretch. Early April...thanks

San Diego to Boise is not an easy drive. Even if it's only halfway.

I'd use Southwest Airlines. Less than $100 each way. And if you take the non-stop, you're only in the air for about 2 hours.

Google Maps has the entire drive from San Diego to Boise taking nearly 15 hours (and that doesn't include any stops). I wouldn't let my kids ride with you if you tried to drive two 7.5 hours days in a row. It's just too far for your plan to be safe. I agree with cruitr - use the airline.
