Ugh! Another heat wave. True, it’s actually pretty typical but I hope it’s the last of the season. Looking for some 2004-like October rains - 3” in a week!

What about the greenery we have here late fall through late spring/early summer? How about the brown look I’m sure you’re experiencing during the same time?

I lived in the Midwest for college, and my wife is from the east coast, so I’m very familiar with how much of the “green” areas of the country look a good portion of the year.

I never thought I'd be so happy to wake up to a cloudy morning. It's been hot for so long now, especially inland. I lost count on how many times it went over 100 in Poway, Esco and El Cajon this this year. Even SD Airport hit 100 last month. Looks like another warm up next week.

Finally fall has arrived. Rain in East County last night. What a relief!

I hope the heat waves are over but I remember a couple of years ago having an unusually warm Thanksgiving, so warm we went to swim at the beach on TDAY. So we may not be out of the woods just yet. At the very least, I am willing to bet that my AC will not be on again for many many months to come.

I don't think we'll truly hit consistently cooler weather until mid November, about the same as last year if I remember. Forecast for next few weeks shows temperatures in mid to high 70's, so there will be warm days here and there. Night is sure cooler though, for the first time in a long time I had to use a blanket and sweater to sleep.

We had 1" of rain earlier this morning. (The drops were spaced 1 inch apart!)

Next up: Strong Santa Ana winds!

It barely sprinkled and I'm already over it. Hate the rain. Give me 365 days of sun, please.

Wow, total brrrrr moment last night and onto this morning.

After months of dying in sweltering heat even at night, kind of strange to finally have to wear a jacket to go outside.
