Exactly. The Chargers have gone up against arguably 2 of the top 3 teams in the NFL (Chiefs & Rams, if you believe in power rankings), and they lost to both. It happens. I still think the Chargers offense can move the ball at will, and when they get Joey Bosa back, will be quite a bit better on defense.

Despite the losses, I see them as a top 7 or 8 team in the NFL at the moment. But winning the division will be difficult with the Chiefs in there, so a Wildcard spot is their best bet.

I agree with your assessment.

Bosa is out. He needs to just get the surgery and look at next year.

You're absolutely right !! That's why they're called the Angels. The franchise started in the City of Angels, LA.

That makes total sense. Can't believe I didn't know that before (I didn't)!

:

Regarding the Chargers' valuation bump, I think it is way too early to determine success/failure. Once they move into that new stadium and start winning and filling luxury suites in a big market city they may see $$$. I'm thinking ~8 years from now.

I'm guessing the NFL isn't going to give them 8 years. Everybody knew it was a horrible idea except the Spanoses and the NFL, apparently.

Spanos should sell the team and the new owner move the Chargers back to San Diego.

The NFL does not have many good options here.

I don't completely disagree with this article, but it is very opinionated.

Personally, I wish the Chargers had stayed in San Diego. However, as no business is entitled to public funding, no city is entitled to an NFL team.

If I owned the Chargers I would have moved to somewhere between Los Angeles and San Diego and claimed SoCal as the home region, similar to what other teams have done: New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals.

The Packers play in Green Bay, WI. The Bucs play in Tampa. Those aren't regions, they're cities.
