Do you feel that Tijuana is safe for American tourists? If not very safe, how much would I have to pay you (hypothetically) to spend 1 day there?

2017 was a pretty bad year for Tijuana as far as murders go, just stay out of Eastern Tijuana and you'll be fine.

Going tonight with a small group of gringos, will report back tomorrow if any issues arise.

As God is my witness, I was just there last weekend.

I voted for $30, because I want you to pay for my beer and tacos and tostilocos while we're there.

It's not a "beginner city" for international travel, but it was the default for many of us in San Diego. Stick to the touristy spots in daylight hours, you'll be fine.

I'm a cheap bastard, so I tried "walking" for a bit, but TJ is not a "walkable" place. I gave in to the omnipresent white taxis. Unlike the US, you can ask how much for a ride to a certain place, and then the price is fixed and not metered. I include a link with some good detail on taxis in mexico:

It's perfectly safe. Don't be a dumbass just like you wouldn't anywhere else in the world and you're fine.

If you have a reason to go down there bravo. I just don't anymore. The traffic blows and not really any deals for entertainment I can't get here. At least considering the hassle getting down there.

Used to enjoy surfing there all the time.
