Feb 21st is a Friday. And travel along the 15 is worst on Fridays. Maybe there was an accident.

We recently drove to Temecula from Inland Scripps Ranch on a weekday afternoon, and we got in under the gun so there was no traffic. Took us all of 45 minutes. Not sure I'd want to commute there, but it's such a great and close Wine Country getaway for those of us down here!

When we moved back to the west coast almost 20 years ago, all of our old friends pushed us to Temecula and the Inland Empire. Google maps wasn't quite as effective in 2003 as it is today, but Temecula looked like a long drive to any major airport with my paper Rand McNally. It still is today.

Temecula is beautiful if you work in the area. But it's a hell of a commute if you work in the San Diego or LA areas. So we opted to buy an over-priced old home near Mission Bay. 20 actual minutes or less to the San Diego airport and anywhere we needed to be in the San Diego area.

No one moves to SoCal to spend 10-15% of their day behind the wheel of their car. I'm sure glad we overpaid for a house near Mission Bay. Now that we're sort-of retired, we can take the time to fix up this old house.

You might have over-paid for your house in 2003, but I bet you're sitting pretty now.

Had I known that houses around Mission Bay would substantially increase in value over the years, I would have bought 2 maybe 3 of them. We get 3-4 contacts every week (phone, door knock, personal email etc) from legitimate buyers/brokers who want to buy or sell our house. We are 'aging in place'. We're not going anywhere. Offer prices are very high but we don't need the money right now.
