Jersey Mikes slightly over $10 for a turkey sub...I walked out! And then they want a tip besides so with tax it rounds out to like $12. Habit Burger and Chic-fil-A raised too. For $10 I can get a pound of Boars Head and make 3 sandwiches!

Crispy Fried Chicken on El Cajon Blvd was good including cost.
KFC is bad, as is Jersey Mike's which is an embarrassment to New Jersey.
Boar's Head is processed bore.

The local supermarkets routinely have cooked whole chickens for 5 bucks. That is nutz to spend 20 bucks for the same thing.

Encinitas is way to far of a drive just to get ripped off.
Isn't there a Crack Shack in little Italy?

Yes, somewhere downtown, but also too close to get ripped off; try the joint I suggested on El Cajon Blvd and report back, hitman.

No other way around it. Prices will go up.
I don't know how to break it to you but when renting a room in someone's home costs upward of $700 a month in a relatively 'cheap' area like Sacramento $13 an hour isn't a lot of money.

There's one on Kettner Blvd, but the prices are the same.

Was never a fan of Crack Shack—overhyped and overpriced.

The fried chicken sandwich at Carnitas Snack Shack (Embarcadero) is much better, a little smaller, and more reasonably priced. Get it with pepper jack cheese.
