The most memorable post in this entire thread.

There. How's that?

Why make a big deal about it? A few of us thought it would never happen. Were it still scheduled, it would be 2.5 months away. I think they reacted prematurely. It probably had more to do with scheduling issues than cancelling simply "because of the pandemic."

Oh, look, footage of thousands of people on the beach this past weekend...

The moral of the story?

Never say never.

It’s easy to be an armchair quarterback. You had politicians telling people to go out, mingle and party. This was pretty unpredictable.

Some people just get a thrill out of saying "I told you so!" They tend to do it often.

Correct. Since CC isn't just a regular convention, it takes a massive amount of work to schedule it, and I'm sure that the organizers decided to just be on the safe side and cancel it.

Yep, and they think that they're better than everyone else, too, but they also have problems.

Very true. It’s well documented that while we were shutting things down you had the mayor of NYC saying everything is fine and to go about your business as usual.

People are picking on moved’s post right now, but that was made in early March. The state hadn’t even began shutting things down yet. Only those really following this and/or in health care knew what lied ahead.

But I do believe most (especially in CA) except for those being very wishful (for any number of reasons) or those in complete denial, had to of seen this coming in regards to shutdowns, cancellations, etc by mid/late March. I made predictions that it would be at least 2-3 months minimum back in early/mid March and I’d like those back too.
