Spotted 4 Monarch butterflies this afternoon; is anyone versed on their spring migrations and when they peak in SD?

When there isn't a virus Pandemic/Quarentine, you can see many Monarch Butterflies at the Sanctuary in Pacific Grove, CA from October-February. It is now closed.

I've starting to see more butterflies in my yard, along with gnats, mosquitoes(?) and other critters that force me into the house when it starts to get dark.

Saw a couple of Monarchs in our canyon backyard today. I keep track of the Painted Ladies' migration, but not the Monarchs. I was just happy to see them, because I know their numbers have been dwindling. Last week it was another species of butterflies paying us a visit, one I hadn't seen before, black with a yellow dotted line along the wings. Mourning Cloak, I think they're called. We saw 3-4 of them in one day.

Never knew the name of the Mourning Cloak until now but that one is a regular in our yard at the moment.
We have some privets along our property and when they bloom their little white flowers this time of year, they become a haven for bees and Monarchs and hummingbirds and everything else.

I've seen lots of the on our walks in Clairemont. Not sure if it is because I am outdoors more often in my neighborhood.
