1. Is the Heat wave over? Is the weather better than ungodly Arizona?

2. Do I need to worry about the fires and black outs?

3. What's the best seafood restaurant with outdoor seating with a view?

4. Going try to do the beach (touch the pacific ocean), gas light district, and balboa park. Probably just take selfies. Is there anything I can or have time to see?

5. Any made in San Diego suggested souvenir to buy?

It's in the upper 80's to low 90's, which is a little cooler than Arizona, and you don't have to worry about fires and blackouts.
The Gaslamp District is mostly bars and restaurants, if that's what you want, Balboa Park is nice, and be prepared to have a hard time parking at the beach.

Someone else can answer the rest of your questions.

I've hosted dozens of old friends at my house over the past 15 years. They all come in with big ideas of things they want to see but once I take them to their first beach, we spend the whole time they're here at the beach. The only exception was the Hawaiians. My Hawaiian friends live on the beach in Hawaii and the last thing they wanted to see was another beach. They loved Balboa Parks and all of the museums.

1. The weather is fine and there are no fires at the beach.
2. Most people leave our house with San Diego Lifeguard clothing.
3. No electrical blackouts in coastal San Diego yet.

Cooler here than AZ with high temps in 80s, without current fires blackouts.
Beach and Balboa are best to do's and Mexican food perhaps fish tacos is a best to eat
Will you mask up in public when unable to distance, Or is that too much an infringement of your personal liberties?

Our favorite little outdoor seafood restaurant is Sportsmen's on Mission Bay, off Mission Bay Drive (very basic, with plastic utensils, but good food), great view of the water, boats, and sea lions, but when we went there a few days ago for what was to be out first dine-out experience since the pandemic started, we took a look at the kitchen, and the chef was wearing her mask below her nose . So we left.

Be vigilant. Take precautions. Just because the San Diego corona numbers are down, doesn't mean you can act as if things are back to normal.

OP, when you get here, present yourself to Bloom for mask inspection and to have your temperature taken. You’ll know him by the big sign around his neck that says “Self Appointed Mask Monitor”.

1. Not really and we are about to enter high heat months of Sept. Oct.
2. Entering fire season too. We haven’t had anything major in a long time though.
3. Personal favorite of mine is Eddie Vs in La Jolla
4. Gaslamp is kind of down at this point with COVID other two options seem doable (but not 100% sure what is open in Balboa)
