Prop 19 is a very clever prep to eliminate prop 13 all together. If prop 19 passes, the politicians will say: look, the elderly are protected by prop 19, there is no need to protect the top earners with prop 13, let's tax the young and the rich. They should pay their fair share!

VOTE NO on 19.

15 - Yes (sorry everyone, I think prop 13 is wildly unfair even if it raises taxes; it distorts the housing market)
16 - big fat NO

Prop 13 is unfair and at Minimum needs to be modified. So many people are biching about the taxes in California but are beneficiarys of Prop 13. Don't get me wrong, i don't trust our local Government and Legislators to spend the extra money correctly, but i do want all California's, including big Business, to pay their fair share of Taxes in this state.

So it's ok to ruin some but not others? If it's applied equally across all voters and it's really that bad, then the property tax methodology will be voted out. I've always said that property tax shouldn't be tied to market value, but by size, type and location of the property. Repealing Prop 13 is the first step to get there.

Wouldn't it make more sense to prevent people that aren't American citizens from being able to purchase property here? Because a lot of what's happening is just that, especially anywhere near the beach.
