Maybe we should put the proud boys and BLM leadership onto their own little island (Catalina?) and be done with both of them.

My vet father was a anti-fascist (antifa) in the 1940s and while he enjoyed a little atlantic city gambling in the 1980s, he never once stayed in treacherous trump's failed casinos (geez, how can the House lose --> ETTD). He knew and for as much, I his son knew in the 1970s. As said, it's not liberal or conservative, but those who knew the don con at the get go, and those still falling for it; all those trump states are undergoing a big covid surge. red Kemp in blue GA has about 1 in 1200 people covid dead.

If the OKC bombings didn't wake them up, I'm not sure anything will.

It's a lot easier to blame foreign adversaries (muslims, Russia, China, etc.) than look at the home-grown ugly in this country.

I think 8% of North Dakota has COVID at this point...

I'm increasingly thinking that there need to be travel restrictions between states that are taking this seriously and states that are not. NY state has them, but I'm not exactly sure how enforceable, constitutional, or effective they are.

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. Also, there was nothing to address because you took something that wasn't meant to be a personal jab as if it were. At its core, the mentality that drove the person to go ballistic over your Yang bumper sticker isn't any different than yours when it comes to Trump supporters/right wingers/etc.

This isn't about sameism and condensing *everything* down to one common denominator. It's simply a statement about how and what drives this big divide between different people. You think you're right and react accordingly. The other guy thinks he's right and does the same. There's no wiggle room anywhere in there which would allow either of those perspectives to bleed over. That's what I meant by the core behavior being the same. I also made it clear that threatening someone vs. your comments here aren't in the same league. I literally said the opposite of what you're seeing (that all things are equal) and you still took it the wrong way. Hell, I even air quoted "the other side" in the follow up.

This is just a dumb forum on the internet where I/we waste time. Don't read more into things than exist.

That's a dumb post. Sorry, but it is.

The whole point was that those with deep rooted partisan tendencies aren't rationally weighing alternative points of view so to expect otherwise is a fool's errand. Put a Yang sticker on your truck, but don't be surprised if and when it elicits a reaction which you yourself would reflexively make for something pro-Trump or whatever.

Also, everyone is biased. But some people abhor anything that isn't just a reflection of what they already believe or want to think is right. That describes a lot of people on this forum. Then again, I bet in real life they're not so dogmatic.

Lmfao.

First off, I didn’t take it personal. I don’t know you. And my life experiences haven’t left me with thin skin emotions. I pointed out that you have a pretentious habit of trying to equate a wide range of deeply oppositional behaviors regardless of moral turpitude of one over the other.

Again, I have rarely dumped on Trump supporters in general, or generic “right-wingers”. I have indeed dumped on extremists ... and on dangerously deranged sociopathic con artists ... of course ... why wouldn’t I? Why wouldn’t you?

The mentality that drives extremists to go ballistic is NOT the same as mentalities that stand up to dangerous extremism and lunacy.

A pedophile can think he’s right in his behaviors as well as those who condemn his behaviors ... but only one party has any moral standing. There is NO equivalency. At all.

More utter nonsense of the exact type I have just highlighted from you.

Pedophilia is an “alternative view”. Does it deserve being “rationally weighed” as an alternative?

Should we Americans cajole sociopaths who suggest we should behead Dr. Fauci and Christopher Wray while “flooding the zone“ (media) with “sh*t” to destroy the public’s confidence in reporting? Etc. These aren’t reasonable points of view worthy of debate. These aren’t even legitimate ideologies. These are hard threats to our nation - not threats of ideological basis, but threats of criminal intent by lunatics.

And who said I was surprised by an extremist’s reaction to my Yang sticker? I didn’t say anything about being surprised. I laughed at the notion that extremists are rare, as the poster suggested. Extremists are fairly well distributed through society ... and their ranks are growing. Why? Because it is lazy, weak, fear-driven human nature to turn to ideologies rather than exercise rational intellectual effort.

Then along comes joosoon with pretentious lectures about equality. Phbbbt.
