Peterson's (aka "Donut Corner") in Escondido. One of the few perks of once living there.

Although I gave up donuts during the pandemic.

I was never that impressed with VG donuts. Haven't tried Parlor in Oceanside.

My choices, not in order:
- Petersons (Escondido)
- Diamond Donuts (Vista)
- Danny's (Vista), specifically blueberry donuts

I've always been somewhat impressed with how many good local donut shops there are in San Diego. For a city/region that eats fairly* healthy and that basically rejected Krispy Kreme and is lukewarm to Dunkin, we definitely do support our local donut shops

*ignoring late-night carne asada fries or burritos

So many, but as newgensandiego mentions Danny's donuts is one of my favorites.

Dunkin Donuts are great as far as chain donuts go, same with Krispy Kremes.

Donut Panic on Mission Gorge road is another big favorite of mine's and I usually have to make a long drive to get them, amazing vegan donuts.

When we moved here from the San Gabriel Valley, we were surprised and how hard it was to find local donut shops! In the San Gabriel Valley (east of L.A.) there was pretty much a mom and pop donut shop on every corner and in every mini mall! And most were pretty good too.

Has nobody tried Crispy's donuts in San Marcos? Rancho Santa Fe Rd.

Or, Foster's Family donuts?

What about those "fancy" donut places vs. the "mom & pop" places?

The wife likes Nomad Donuts. Personally, I'm a traditionalist so not really into the glitzy, trendy, fancy stuff.
