Hi everyone!

My family recently has moved from Orange County to La Jolla. Right now we have a 20 month old son and I am 4 months pregnant with our second child, we are in the process of figuring out which schools we are interested in him attending for preschool and beyond because it seems like this will be where we raise him (and any subsequent siblings). We are interested in the private schools and so far have been quite impressed by Francis Parker and The Evans School. The Evans School appears to have a lot less information online about them and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. If you have any other school suggestions please let me know below!

Thank you!

Not all private schools are all that. We did private schools for a long time and found good public schools were actually ahead in some curriculum. Basically math and science if they have a good foundation of educators.

We live in La Jolla and our daughters were educated at the public schools: Torrey Pines Elementary, Muirlands Middle School and La Jolla High School. They had wonderful caring teachers and received excellent educations. Both girls were in the gifted programs which I don't think exist any longer. Private schools here are great too and both of my daughters have friends that attended both schools you mention above, but I would not discount our public schools.

The best way to get a feel for any school is to check out the level of parental involvement it gets. If they have an active PTA, even better.
