Every local airport has to have 100 touch and goes a day. It's going to happen. I quit after our instructor was on a plane that lost both wings in wind sheer.

When I saw this story on CNN today I immediately thought of Sept 25, 1978. That was the day PSA 182 and a Cessna collided and crashed, a few short blocks from my North Park Apt killing 144 people. I saw that crash close up in person. This crash today was the same horrible visual sight. Homes ablaze in a residential neighbourhood from a plane crash. Sadly there have been deaths reported. Thankfully it wasn't another 144 killed as in 1978.

Never too early on the interwebs.
I was thinking the wind might've had something to do with it, but the reports of the engines sputtering makes me think otherwise. Whatever the cause, it's an unfortunate story.

Orders of magnitude difference, but agreed that was worse.
The FA18 that crashed on the occupied house in University City not too many years ago was closer in similarity.

Anyone know what kind/size of aircraft involved?

Based on the fire size/intensity, I'd say it was "loaded" with fuel...
