Good for the military and local defense industry but also good for ongoing tourism!
If that was turned into a tourist attraction it would probably double in tourist dollars

No - that was already tried with the Navy recruit training center now known as Liberty Station.

I don't know. Trading noise with one community for another, is like moving a sex-offender from one community to another.

Neither fix the problem...

However, the people in La Jolla should be better insulated from the residue, due to the add'l altitude the jets should have, by the time they fly over. Dunno if they'll reduce power (and climb rate) as they do now, to appease the fine residents of Point Loma...

We know the Govt would never give up that land on Miramar. Developers have been trying for what, fifty plus years? I just use TJ International if I have to. La Jolla money would never let anyone build an airport there.

Good - we don't need anymore waterfront condos or shopping centers (ahem Liberty Station)

Yeah, I know. Just throwing out (im)possibilities.

Same can be said for Joe Pendleton's place. (Speaking of which, I haven't heard much in the way of 155's lately...)

The Marines are actually doing away with their heavy artillery and tanks. They’re restructuring and going back to their roots as an amphibious landing force. So things might get a little quieter for their neighbors.
