Sorry, man, not relevant at all to what I was referring to. Maybe people are still weird or strange or what have you--I'll give you that. But a lot of things have changed in the world that the older gens have a difficult time understanding. Just as I'm sure there were things much different decades ago that I wouldn't quite understand. This makes it difficult to dish out advice, when your advice isn't relevant. Shouting down at you and name calling and arguing that they just need a tougher skin isn't the solution either.

It's not like these users come here and get pushed away, they never come here in the first place.
I believe this site does have a mobile format, just not an actual app. Personally, I can't stand it and rely on switching to full desktop view and zooming in.

I've looked at the portfolio of sites under Advameg's umbrella, and truth be told, I don't think it may have been in the long term goal to expand and grow like a Reddit. Most of the websites appear to aggregate data, but nothing seems particularly useful or unique. It looks like mostly fluff. Someone else said it earlier, maybe you, that the site makes enough to keep the owner comfortable. Maybe that's its sole purpose. The unfortunate downside to this strategy is that it hasn't done well to attract newer, younger members.

Default reddit instead of city-data

Seems that reddit gets a lot traffic these days as opposed to city-data.com in many of the forums.

You know this thread struck a nerve with me. I am totally guilty of going off the deep end on here mouthing off at people not taking the Covid situation seriously. I still feel that way and it is concerning as ever, However I REALLY don't like acting this way. Especially since I moved to San Diego from NYC to get away from nasty people. I had been traveling here for over 20 years before I moved here. I was always sad to leave when my time was up.

CA has been great to me in so many ways but someone like myself has been transformed by what I have seen during this pandemic. People who I thought were smart and kind turning out to be the complete opposite. Lying and cheating....not caring about neighbors or people who are sick and thumbing their nose at you and bragging about being reckless. How can I have love for people like this ?

The funny thing is I never gave a **** about politics or any of it. None of it really touched my life in any profound way but this is different. This virus brought out THE TRUTH in people and it is an UGLY UGLY truth which is painful to swallow.

Basically I apologize for any discourse I may have caused this year on the threads but my intention is merely to vent my anger and frustrations at people who make this already TOUGH situation so much harder on the rest of us. I wish we were more supportive of each other.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading.

Reddit has far more activity, but this forum seems to have more community...if that makes sense.

Remember those one green reputation point people who posted along the lines “ we’re a couple who can work remotely anywhere around the world but thinking of San Diego and have a multi million dollar housing budget.”

And the LA forum can be hilarious. A couple who needed advice on moving from the Midwest to Beverly Hills with a U Haul. They supposedly were buying but needed to be near a bus stop to get around.

That's pretty much it, but it's entertaining to read the snarky responses to Reddit posts. I'm more of a reader than a poster but occasionally there's a topic that gives me an urge to jump in. I'm the most active here in posting videos in the CD Music section.

I also check out my feeds in FB, ND, Quora, Tumblr & Twitter.

When I got out of school back in the 90’s I had a lousy job market. I had many low paying jobs (not even in my field), and took on side hustles doing construction on the weekends. I moved back home until I saved up enough for a studio no bigger than my current bedroom. I later had roommates until my 30’s. I took two buses to work for several years as well. While it was only 25 years ago, it was 4 decades ago. How is that story any different than so many now? I’ll give you school costs more now, but I was also told not to waste my time and money on a worthless degree. Maybe it was because I was told I was entitled to nothing growing up that I accepted this as how things work coming up?

Hah, that's exactly the reason why I got off. I think to some people, that's food for entertainment. It just stresses me out.
