Either it's safe to be in school or it's not. More virtue signaling. Thank GOD my kids are out of the public school system.

Who knew a piece of clothe could save you from the covids.

I agree with you.

Whether it's the CDC, local govt. or some other agency telling the brainwashed lambs a simple cloth will keep you, friends & loved ones safe from a virus is lying. If it is not an N95 mask it's just for show. This won't stop a lawsuit. Maybe it's part of their insurance requirement?
Get an N95 or 3-ply layer mask if they insist.

They need a waiver or disclaimer to be signed by the parents vs. a mask that can bring on other respiratory problems.

Most people heard that even doctors and nurses caught the virus and died. I believe all wore a mask.

Absolutely insane at this point. My best friend since HS has lived in Florida for years now, and with the exception of early on in the pandemic his daughter has been in school and without a mask.

Notice we don’t hear about Florida like we used to when it comes to covid? I guess when the difference in deaths by not shutting down businesses and schools turned out to be a rounding error compared to California that narrative goes away.

They should have never gotten rid of it in the first place. I told you guys several weeks ago it was too early to do away with INDOOR masking.

Forest Gump Syndrome is REAL.

I won't argue. I don't have to....it's fairly obvious we are in another surge right now.....numbers all around are going ^^^^

Deny deny deny but you won't be fooling anyone or the virus.

And DAGBURNIT fix that muffler it's too loud !

The bar is really high if you look at the details. It takes three concurrent classroom outbreaks per site during a 14 day stretch, so that's a minimum of nine students plus 5% overall infection rate. Alternatively, there has to be 10% of the total student population being infected over a three day period.

Given those parameters, where I'm at, that would translate to 60-90+ kids being infected which would be extremely high. And remember, all these numbers only trigger a return to indoor masking, and only at those specific sites, *not* a shut down. That's the big difference between now and a year ago.

And for a blanket district-wide return to indoor masking, SD county has to hit the equivalent of what was extreme purple level on the state's now defunct color chart. That's the equivalent of the CDC "orange" tier the policy is linked to. Again, even with case levels that high, they're not shutting down schools, only requiring indoor masks.

As disappointing as it is to hear cases climbing, we're not seeing the knee-jerk insanity of 2020.

My daughter graduated from Mesa, an outdoor graduation. Right on the literature masks required. I was like what? It's outdoors. Sure enough a big sign outside but as we got closer to the stadium we could see in and it was like everyone said a collective, nope, not happening.

Another variant case uptick, though generally mild disease, though hundreds dying daily nationally.
May want to mask in crowded, indoor situations, especially for the many keyboard warriors here who are old and or unhealthy

Guessing you are doing both? I'm training for a triathlon. We haven't been able to for two years with these dumb mandates. Be safe, wear your mask.
