My wife was hit by another vehicle 16 days ago. We called our insurance and rushed to get my car into any shop that would take it that day. We used Fix Auto. Initially I had called the one in Kearny Mesa, but they couldn't even get it for two days, so I had the one in Mission Valley pick it up that same day. I thought that was a good start as it meant I'd have it back quick. I though maybe a few days, a week at most.

Two weeks later, I still don't have it. I keep checking in with them and every time I do they say it's due to parts being ordered and waiting on the parts. Even my insurance company has a disclaimer when I login that says part shortages are an issue. Even still, it seems like two weeks should be more than enough. I plan to check in with them again today.

The damage was not that great, seems like they should be done. Am I being unreasonable? Anyone else had this experience in the past two years? How long did yours take?

What kind of parts? Body or something else damaged in the crash?
It sounds plausible to me and a couple weeks doesn't seem totally excessive. All bets are off when it comes to turnaround times on anything once the term "supply chain issue" entered the lexicon. Maybe you can suggest they source the missing stuff from another supplier if possible?

Wife's suv was bumped into in parking lot last year. Needed a new door. I believe it took 6 weeks at the shop for the work to be done. Body shops are notoriously slow.

Joosoon, just a front driver side fender and not sure if there may have been some axle damage. I could ask about another supplier, but not sure if they'd take my suggestion... I had thought of that.
Axxlrod, WOW, thanks for that. Give's me the perspective I guess I was missing.

Other than tires I usually do all repair work on my cars and been doing that for the last 20 years or so. Some parts especially from the manufacturer can take weeks to arrive.

So not surprised.

Damn, I wish I would’ve taken it there. I was so frantic to get it into the shop. I didn’t even think about checking reviews. I have a prior experience with fix auto in Mission in Valley and I remember them being pretty good.
